Impressive Antique English Stone Gargoyle

This wonderfully unique piece is an architectural fragment from a demolished building in Somerset England. Early 19th century or late 18th century stone carving of a gargoyle peering around the corner. Body has detailed scales and very large claws. There is a similar carving at Oxford University.
