Antique Spectator Bench

19th century cast iron bench with newly replaced mahogany wood slats.  The inset picture shows the English diamond design patent registration stamp.  The original design was registered and patented on July 13, 1857. 

What makes this bench unique and interesting is the built-in foot board which protected the feet of spectators at an outdoor sporting event.
