Impressive Antique Lead Water Cistern, Cast with the date 1677

Extremely rare English lead water cistern. Decorated to the front and proper right end only, and with rounded rim, the front decorated with 3 fruit garlands, a pair of strapwork cartouches and initials 'EB' in the center, surrounded by a fleur-de-lis, stag, tudor rose medallion and portcullis. Mid to late 19th century.

Stabilized with interior lead tubing from front to back.
