Notts & Derby Insurance Plaque

Notts & Derby Insurance Plaque with coat of arms in center, made in lead. In the 18th and 19th centuries, these were hung on the exterior of houses after the owner paid for an insurance policy. Only when the firemen saw this plaque, would they put the fire out!
