Antique Wooden Sheep Dip

Deep wood trough used to dip sheep in a cleansing solution to remove contaminants from their wool in preparation for shearing. This sheep dip is labeled "Cooper's Dip" circa 1875. Condition in accordance with age and use. William Cooper was a British veterinary surgeon, agriculturalist and industrialist who specialized in the manufacturing of agricultural insecticides for livestock. He is credited with developing the first successful sheep dip, Cooper's Dip, in 1852. Imported from Hertfordshire England.
